Development of an MVP SaaS service with accounts and subscription

Let's put together the first version of the service that can be given to real users. There will be one useful script at the center, and subscription and access will work in harmony.

What result should an MVP give?

A SaaS MVP tests whether people need your core script and are willing to use it. This could be online recording, document issuance, collaboration or data processing. A page with a payment button does not replace a working product; At the same time, it makes no sense to include all future modules in the first version.

Before development, we formulate the user path: registered, performed a useful action, received the result, returned. For a paid service, tariff registration is added. The main acceptance criteria should describe these activities, not just the list of pages.

What will we include in the first version?

  • Registration, login, access restoration and profile.
  • Basic working scenario with data saving.
  • Client or team account with roles, if they are actually used.
  • Tariffs, limits, trial period and rules for changing subscriptions.
  • Integration of payment and server-side reconciliation of financial status.
  • Owner's admin panel: users, subscriptions, requests and errors.
  • Backups, monitoring and the ability to download data.

Subscription must match access

The active tariff determines the allowed actions on the server. It is not enough to hide the button in the browser: the API request must also check access. Extension, cancellation, late and return have explicit states. A repeated payment event does not renew the subscription a second time.

If one client represents an organization, their team data is separated from other clients. This is checked for pages, APIs, search, files and background tasks. The rights of the service owner also need to be limited and logged, and not given full access to all employees.

How to divide the work into stages

  1. Prototype. We agree on the main route and access model.
  2. Working version. The user runs the script on the saved data.
  3. Tariffs. We connect limits and test payments according to the provider’s rules.
  4. Pilot. A small group goes through the path, recording errors and questions.
  5. Launch. We check data recovery, support and observability.

We add new modules after feedback. If the user does not understand the basic function, another schedule or tariff will not fix the product. Useful metrics for the first version: script completion, user return, errors, and actual support calls.

Cost and valuation limits

Development SaaS products starts Quote on request. Costs for infrastructure, acquiring and external APIs are considered separately. The budget depends on the complexity of the core function, team roles and integrations; a ready-made detailed estimate appears after analyzing the project.

The studio has its own services, including tlgrm.bot. Their availability does not promise the same volume for the starting price. To discuss MVP, it is enough to describe the user, the main action, payment method and what should be included in the first launch.
