If you are selling an online course and still manually enroll students in a sign, open access after each payment and send out lessons to the list every morning - you do not have a course, but a daily change of operator, seven days a week. Telegram bot for courses removes exactly this work: records and sells it himself, gives access after payment, sends lessons according to the schedule, monitors the student’s progress and protects the content from forwarding.
We are a globall.dev studio, developing Telegram bots and web services - 17+ bots in production and our own Globall VPN product. In this article, we’ll take an honest look at why an information product needs a bot instead of a heavy platform, how the course recording and delivery works, how to protect lessons, how much it costs and how long it really takes to launch. And we'll show you everything real case — a bot that we put together for a public show with a training course.
Why does an online course need a bot and not a platform?
Large LMS platforms (GetCourse, a separate website with a personal account) are good for large schools with dozens of courses and complex funnels. But for a marathon, short program, subscription course or subscription club, they are often redundant: the student must register, create a password, install an application or keep a tab open. Every step like this means lost people.
The bot works where the audience is already sitting. Key benefits for the course author:
- Zero entry threshold. The student presses “Start” - no registrations, no passwords, no installation of applications.
- Recording and selling on autopilot. The bot itself guides a person from choosing a course to payment and opens access automatically.
- Delivery on schedule. Lessons come on their own on the right day - this keeps the student “in the flow” and increases profitability.
- Content protection. Videos and materials cannot be sent or saved - a paid product does not leak into other people's chats.
- Accounting and control. Entries, payments, active subscriptions and progress are visible in the admin panel.
Simply put: the platform is the place where the student needs to be brought. The bot itself comes to the student in his usual messenger. For courses with a clear “lesson by lesson” structure, this is a shorter path and higher conversion to purchase and completion.
What a good telegram bot can do for courses
To make it clear what you pay for during development, I’ll break down the functionality into four circuits. Not every course needs all four, but they are what differentiate a working product from a “bot that just sends files.”
| Contour | What does | Why does the author need this? |
|---|---|---|
| Recording and sales | Onboarding, choosing a course/tariff, accepting payment or issuing an access code | The student buys himself, without correspondence with the manager |
| Content delivery | Delivery of lessons immediately or on schedule, progress tracking, reminders | Higher yield, no need to send manually |
| Security and Access | Forward protection, access by subscription period, auto-close at the end | Content does not leak, subscription does not turn into a purchase forever |
| Management | Administrator: lesson editor, code generation, statistics, mailings | The author changes the course himself, without a programmer for each edit |
To sell a digital course inside Telegram, we use Stars and open access after a confirmed payment. To connect with the existing educational platform, we separately design authorization, purchase accounting and delivery of materials; An external payment service cannot be considered an automatic bypass of Telegram rules.
Real example: subscription course with daily delivery
This mechanic is best seen in a live project. We have collected Telegram bot for subscription course delivery - for the public show of Olympic gymnast Ekaterina Galkina “Undress and Swing.” This is a sports course of lymphatic drainage training, which is sold as 30 day program: one lesson per day, in order, without the ability to skip ahead.
The task posed three problems at once, typical for any paid information product:
- Deliver content strictly according to schedule — send the right day to the right people every morning, without confusing who is on what day. This is impossible with your hands in front of a live audience.
- Protect content from forwarding — having purchased one access, a person should not be able to send training videos to everyone. For a project of a public person, this is a question of both money and reputation.
- Close access automatically — on the 31st day of subscription there should be no new workouts left, nor the ability to scroll through old messages.
The author already had a sales showcase on Tilda, and there was no point in pushing payment inside the bot. Therefore we docked two systems: the landing page sells, and the content is delivered and protected by a bot. Here's how it works in practice.
From payment to access
A person pays for a course on a landing page. Tilda sends a webhook to the bot about payment, bot verifies HMAC-SHA256 signature request - so that access cannot be given away by a fake call - generates one-time activation code and sends it to the buyer by email via SMTP. The user enters the code in the bot, and the 30-day subscription is activated. The code is tied to an email and a specific course and is triggered just once, so there's no point in sharing it.
Daily delivery on schedule
This is the heart of the product. The scheduler (APScheduler with a cron trigger) sends out exactly their course day to all active subscribers at a given time and taking into account the time zone. Bot leads progress tracking — the current day out of the total, draws a visual progress bar and reminds you 3 days before the end that the subscription is ending. Every day is not one message, but a structured output: welcome materials, videos and photos of training, animations and links to music playlists.
Content protection and access lifetime
All materials are sent with Telegram protection mode (protect_content) — Videos and photos cannot be forwarded, saved or copied. And when the subscription expires, the bot automatically deletes all sent messages with training - access is completely closed, as promised in the subscription.
The author manages the course himself
The admin panel inside the bot gives the author full control without a programmer: managing courses, generating activation codes, viewing subscriptions and statistics, loading course from JSON and editor of days and media. The user’s menu changes dynamically depending on the subscription status - the middleware checks access and shows only what the person is currently entitled to.
Project stack: Python + Aiogram (bot), FastAPI (receiving webhook), SQLAlchemy 2.0 async for 7 tables (users, courses, days, media, codes, subscriptions, sent messages), Cloudflare Tunnel for receiving webhook without opening ports to the outside. The same circuit - payment → issuing access → scheduled delivery → protection and auto-closure - can easily be transferred to any other course.
How to protect lessons from forwarding and leaking
Content protection is the main fear of the author of a paid course, and here it is important to say honestly: there is no absolute protection on the Internet - the screen can always be re-shot on a phone. But the task is not this, but to make draining inconvenient and unprofitable, removing the easy methods of “buy one, give to everyone.” Working set of measures:
- protect_content on all videos and photos - you cannot send, save or copy the material using regular Telegram tools.
- One-time activation codes, tied to the buyer - there is no point in sharing the code, it expires after the first use.
- Access by subscription period with automatic closing - the next day after the end the content is unavailable.
- Automatic removal of materials at the end of the subscription, the old lessons do not remain “forever” in the correspondence.
- Scheduled delivery, and not all at once - the student simply does not have the entire course on hand to merge it.
These measures are enough to prevent the course from leaking “in one click”, and an attempt to drain it requires manual retaking - but does not provide a guarantee against copying.
How much does a course bot cost?
The cost depends on what exactly we are automating: simple recording and issuance of materials or a full-fledged subscription program with scheduling and protection. Here are the real rates and terms in the globall.dev studio:
| Package | What's included | Price | Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Registration for the course, issuance of access/materials on the code, basic logic and welcome | Quote on request | 5–7 days |
| Business | Accepting payments, tariffs, issuing lessons, progress tracking, admin panel with recordings | Quote on request | 10–14 days |
| Turnkey | Subscription with scheduled delivery, content protection, auto-close access, course editor in the admin panel | Quote on request | 3–5 weeks |
| Mini App/Product | Course showcase in Telegram Mini App, student’s personal account, website and payment | Quote on request | 3–5 weeks |
The exact figure depends on the method of sale (payment in a bot or a connection with a ready-made landing page), the number of courses and tariffs, the format of the lessons, whether a schedule and content protection are needed. See the full tariff schedule and cost calculator on the page services and prices — there you can collect an approximate estimate in a couple of minutes.
Checklist: what should be included in a bot for a turnkey course
These points are worth checking any development proposal:
- Recording and accepting payment (or a reliable connection with your landing page using a signed webhook)
- Automatic issuance of access - by code or immediately after confirmation of payment, in seconds and without you
- Delivery of lessons on schedule with progress tracking and reminders
- Content protection (protect_content) and auto-close access at the end of the subscription
- Administrator: lesson and media editor, code generation, statistics, mailings
- Loading a course from a structured file - to change content without a developer
- Monitoring, backups and error handling Telegram API - included by default
How do we work on such a project?
The approach is simple and without surprises. First, a brief: you tell us what course you have, how it is sold and in what format the lessons are, we ask clarifying questions and send fixed estimate and terms in the contract - usually in one day. Next, step-by-step payment and demo every 2-3 days, so that you see progress and do not receive a “black box” at the end.
We are hiring limited number of projects at once — this keeps the deadlines realistic. The first to be designed is what brings in and saves money: sales, access and content protection. You own the source code from day one — you are not tied to us and can further develop the bot with anyone. And, as can be seen from the case above, the product is immediately built so that the author himself manages the course without a programmer.
Do you need a bot that sells a course and delivers it itself?
Tell us about the course - we will send you a fixed estimate and deadlines the day before. Recording, payment, delivery of lessons according to schedule and protection of content - we collect turnkey, the source code is yours from day one.

Frequently asked questions
Why do you need a telegram bot for courses if there is an online platform?
The bot lives where the student is already sitting - in Telegram, without registrations, passwords or installing applications. He signs up for the course himself, gives access after payment, sends lessons according to the schedule, keeps track of progress and reminds about renewal. For short courses, marathons and subscription programs, it is cheaper and simpler than a full-fledged LMS, and the entry barrier for the student is zero.
Is it possible to protect lessons in a bot from forwarding and copying?
Yes. Videos and photos of lessons are sent with the Telegram protection mode (protect_content) enabled—you cannot forward, save, or take a screenshot of the content. Additionally, access is granted using a one-time code linked to the buyer, and at the end of the subscription, the bot can automatically delete all sent materials so that access is completely closed.
How does the bot provide access to the course after payment?
When selling a digital course inside Telegram, Telegram Stars is used. The bot checks payment confirmation and grants access once. To integrate with the existing training platform, authorization, purchase synchronization and Telegram requirements are separately agreed upon.
How much does it cost to develop a telegram bot for courses?
A simple bot for recording and distributing course materials - Quote on request and 5-7 days. Bot with payment, lesson delivery schedule and admin panel - Quote on request and 10–14 days. A full-fledged subscription program with scheduled delivery, content protection and auto-closing access - from USD 75,000 turnkey. Mini App with course showcase and personal account - Quote on request.
Will the author be able to change lessons and schedule himself, without a programmer?
Yes, this is laid out at the start. Course days, texts and media are edited in the admin panel directly in the bot, and the course itself can be downloaded from a structured JSON file. The author manages courses, generates activation codes, sees subscriptions and statistics - without contacting the developer for every edit.
